| I wrote this book a few years ago. At the time there were very few no limit hold'em games to be found in cardrooms, and the book reflects that. It's covers limit hold'em. Covers it very well, I think, but it's not complete on its coverage of no limit hold'em or on tournaments. |
| This is another pre poker boom book, but Ciaffone's work is always solid. He's basically a tight-assed PLO player so he tends to have a different perspective on poker than I do. Looking at the world through different perspectives is a good thing to do now and then. I recommend the book. | |

| Don't let the publishers claimed publication date fool you. This book was published 30 years ago, not 10 years ago. | |

A popular book, but without much to offer in my opinion. It's poorly written, and very poorly edited. It's publisher, twoplustwo, seems to do a good job of promoting books but a very poor job of editing and they generally have low production values. The book does do a better job of other books on covering play on the turn in limit hold'em games. | |
