The Complete Book of Hold'Em Poker
Science, Evolution, and Creationism, National Acadamy of Sciences. More a booklet than a book (under 90 pages). A reasoned attack on creationism aimed at high school science teachers.

Urban Operations Research by Richard Larson and Amedeo R. Odoni. A classic in applied operations research.

Ebook editions of my two books, The Complete Book of Hold'Em Poker and The Complete Book of Casino Poker are sold by me for $6.25 and $3.50.

There are some free ebooks on poker strategy scattered around. Various sites use them for promotion, and you can be pretty sure they'll be superficial and not really get into nitty-gritty strategic issues. But, some aren't a complete waste of time.

Poker: A Guarenteed Income for Life by Frank R. Wallace.
A bestselling book from a few decades ago on how to hustle home poker. A really good book that still has a lot of relevance today.

I highly recommend it.

The Definitive Online Poker Strategy didn't impress me but it's not a total waste of time.

Secrets of Winning Online Poker is pretty bad. The author spells even worse than I do, which I didn't think was possible. But I at least I know how to edit and/or spellcheck, even if I don't always do it well. This clown doesn't even know what edit means. Besides the problems with spelling he doesn't have a close, personal relationship with the concept of a sentence.

It's about 20 pages of text, which doesn't have anything unique to offer and some of what it does offer isn't even right. Ads are interspesed in those 20 pages. Then it's followed by about 30 pages of ads.

A major waste of time. If you've ever read anything at all about poker, or just talked to someone else about poker for 5 minutes once, then there's no reason I can see of to read this poker strategy book.

Sit-n-go strategy for Full-Tilt poker doesn't even work as an effective ad. As a poker how-to book it's really bad. A complete waste of time. Don't bother.

Making ethical decisions isn't really a book, maybe a booklet. And it's more about ethics than abot decision making.

Pax Neo-Tech, by Frank R. Wallace.
This isn't much of a book, but it's of interest because you can see what happened to Frank Wallace. Towards the end of his poker book (above) you can see a little paranoia creeping into Wallace's writing. By the time he wrote this book he was pretty much full blown nuts. Or at least it seems that way. Poker was originally published in a paperbook edition by a mainstream publisher. The Neo-Tech book isn't likely to find a mainstream publisher anytime soon.

Convex Optimization
"Boyd and Vandenberghe have written a beautiful book that I strongly recommend to everyone interested in optimization and computational mathematics: Convex Optimization is a very readable and inspiring introduction to this modern field of research...The book will be accessible not only to mathematicians but also to researchers and students who want to use convex optimization in applied fields like engineering, computer science, economics, statistics, or others. I recommend it as one of the best optimization textbooks that have appeared in the last years." Mathematical Methods of Operations Research

DUI/DWI Arrest Survival Guide - The Guilt Myth

The three secrets of wise decision making by Barry F. Anderson.
Courage, creativity and balance are the three secrets he claims are the secret to decision making. By courage he means the courage to be rational which I think is an interesting perspective.

The warning signs of a need for greater courage are emotionality and resistance in response to challenging information. The paths toward greater courage are hope that a rational process will lead to the best outcome, appropriate emotional distance from the decision outcomes, and process orientation.
Good book. Easy read. Worthwhile.
